Baccarat is a card game that has long been a favourite among Malaysians — from the casino floors of Genting Highlands to being playable right from your phone, anywhere you are. Unlike other card games that demand a high level of skill, baccarat's simplicity means everyone, from first-timers to seasoned regulars, can enjoy it.
The objective of baccarat is straightforward — you bet on whether the Banker, Player, or Tie hand will come closest to a value of 9. There are no complex decisions to make and no layered strategies to memorise — simply place your bet and watch the outcome unfold. That's what makes baccarat so special.
At mytown88, we understand why Malaysian players love baccarat. We've brought that experience to our digital platform with over 20 live baccarat tables, professional Malay-speaking dealers, high-resolution HD cameras, and a responsive interface across all devices. No need to drive up to Genting — the excitement of baccarat is now right in your pocket.
Try Free BaccaratCard values: A = 1, 2–9 = face value, 10/J/Q/K = 0. If the total exceeds 9, the first digit is dropped.
Bet on Banker: RM 100 → returns RM 195 (1:1 payout minus 5% commission)
Understand each bet type before you sit down at the table — these are the fundamentals you need to know
| Bet Type | Description | Payments | House Edge | Recommended |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Banker | Bet on the Banker hand to win or finish closest to 9 | 1:1 (minus 5% commission) | 1.06% | |
| Player | Bet that the Player hand will win or come closest to 9 | 1:1 | 1.24% | |
| Tie | Bet that both hands will finish with the same value | 8:1 | 14.36% | |
| Banker Pair | The Banker's first two cards form a pair (same value) | 11:1 | 10.36% | |
| Player Pair | The Player's first two cards form a pair (same value) | 11:1 | 10.36% |
Important Tip: The Banker bet carries the lowest house edge in baccarat at just 1.06% — which is why most experienced players make it their go-to choice. Avoid the Tie bet despite its attractive payout, as its house edge is exceptionally high.
Each variant offers a slightly different experience — pick the one that suits your playing style

Many Malaysian players who are used to playing baccarat at Genting Highlands or other smaller casinos may wonder — what is actually different about playing at mytown88 compared to going in person? Honestly, there are plenty of advantages that have made digital platforms like mytown88 a top choice.
First, convenience. Getting to Genting Highlands means planning a trip, sitting in a car or bus for over an hour, and factoring in accommodation costs if you're staying overnight. At mytown88, you open your phone, log in, and within 30 seconds you're seated at a live baccarat table. Midnight, dawn, 2 in the afternoon — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Second, far more choice. A land-based casino might have 10 to 20 baccarat tables — and you will likely have to queue on a busy day. mytown88 has over 20 active baccarat tables running simultaneously, from low-limit tables starting at RM 5 all the way up to VIP tables at RM 200,000. You pick the table that fits your budget and mood.
Third, the bonuses. Land-based casinos rarely offer bonuses to regular players. At mytown88, you can claim a welcome bonus, weekly cashback, and a range of special promotions that add real value to every session.

The roadmap displays a history of results — many players use it to spot patterns in the game
The most basic display — each circle represents one result. Filled circle = Banker wins; empty circle = Player wins; circle with a line = Tie. Read top to bottom, left to right.
The most popular and easy-to-follow roadmap. Each column represents a winning streak for one side. When the winning side changes, a new column begins.
Derived from the Big Road pattern — signals whether the game trend is "consistent" or "choppy". Red = consistent; blue = choppy. Favoured by experienced players.
Two additional roadmaps that offer different perspectives derived from the Big Road pattern. Useful for players who want a deeper analysis of the current game trend.
Keep in mind: While roadmaps are a popular tool among baccarat players, it's important to understand that each round of baccarat is independent of the last. Roadmaps help visualise historical patterns, but they cannot reliably predict future outcomes. Use the roadmap as a guide, not a guarantee.
For many Malaysian players, the word "baccarat" has always been synonymous with Genting Highlands — the legendary casino that has served as the country's iconic gambling destination for decades. There's no denying the experience of playing there in person, with the real casino atmosphere, the sound of chips, and that one-of-a-kind thrill.
The reality of modern life, though, is that time is precious. Not everyone can afford to take a trip to Genting every time they feel like playing baccarat. That's where mytown88 bridges the gap — bringing the quality and excitement of casino baccarat straight to your phone.
The mytown88 live baccarat platform uses multi-angle HD cameras, giving you a clear view of every card dealt. Our dealers are trained professionals with engaging personalities — many mytown88 players say they prefer interacting with our dealers over those at physical casinos, who can feel more formal and distant.
More importantly, mytown88 offers more flexible table limits. You can enjoy Mini Baccarat from as little as RM 5 with no pressure, or move up to a VIP table whenever you're ready. At Genting, baccarat tables typically start at higher minimum bets and you may need to queue just to get a seat.

This is not a guaranteed winning formula — no such thing exists in baccarat. It is simply an approach that helps you play in a more controlled and structured way.
With a house edge of just 1.06%, the Banker bet is mathematically the strongest choice in baccarat. Even with the 5% commission, it still outperforms the Player bet (1.24%) and far outperforms the Tie (14.36%). Experienced players tend to stick with Banker unless they have a solid reason to switch.
Bet the same amount every round — not increasing or decreasing based on previous results. This is the safest approach and keeps your bankroll going longer. Avoid "double up" systems, which can drain your funds quickly during a losing streak.
Before sitting down, set two limits — a win limit (e.g., stop when you are up RM 300) and a loss limit (stop when you are down RM 200). Once either limit is hit, walk away. This is the single biggest difference between players who manage their bankroll well and those who keep chasing without end.
Many baccarat players believe in "streaks" — if Banker wins three times in a row, it might win again. There's nothing wrong with watching for patterns, but keep in mind that every round is mathematically independent. Treat these observations as a loose guide, not a standalone strategy.
Baccarat is played with 1, 6, or 8 decks of cards. In theory, tables with fewer decks carry a slightly lower house edge. At mytown88, the number of decks is displayed for each table — check before you sit down.
Mytown88's welcome bonus and weekly cashback can be used as "free capital" to explore new tables or variants you haven't tried before. Avoid using bonuses on high-risk bets — use them to play longer and get a better feel for the game.
Baccarat players at mytown88 enjoy a range of bonuses designed to add value to every gaming session.

Baccarat is entertainment — not an investment or a source of income. mytown88 is committed to keeping your play within safe limits.
Before sitting down at a baccarat table, decide on the maximum amount you are willing to spend. Once that limit is reached — stop, even if you feel like a win is just around the corner. Use the deposit and bet limit features in your mytown88 account settings for automatic control.
One of the most dangerous habits in baccarat is increasing your bets after a loss to try to recover. If you catch yourself doing this, stop the session immediately. Use the mytown88 Account Pause feature if needed — 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days.
Mytown88 strictly prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from registering or playing. Age verification is carried out during registration. If you become aware of an underage user, please report it to our support team immediately.
If baccarat is starting to affect your life — financially, at home, or at work — seek help immediately. Contact Talian Kasih 15999 (Malaysia, free 24 hours) or visit the page Responsible Gaming us.
